HORIZON 2020: An introduction...

Horizon 2020, the EU’s new funding programme for research and innovation, will be launched at the end of 2013. With a budget of over €70bn for the seven year period to 2020, it represents a significant source of support for research and innovation. Universities, companies large and small, institutes and government bodies can all be funded.

Most of the funding will support European consortia working together on substantial projects, though individual research teams and small companies will also be supported. The majority of opportunities require proposers to bid against identified priority topics. Knowing the priorities and where to find consortium partners are important factors in preparing to participate in this programme.

This workshop will provide an overview of the new programme: its scope, budget, rules and procedures, as well as the identifying the interest groups to watch.

The workshop is specifically aimed at NEWCOMERS to EU research and innovation funding whether they are from industry, universities or local government.
