Profes 2000 to focus on software improvement
The main theme of the conference is professional software process improvement (SPI), motivated by the need for good quality products and service. SPI is possible through assessments of software process, software measurement, process modelling, and technology transfer and has become a practical tool for quality software engineering and management, say the event organisers.
The conference will address both the solutions found in practice as well as relevant research results form academia. The purpose of the conference is to bring to light the most recent findings and results in this area and to stimulate discussion between researchers, experienced professionals and technology providers for SPI.
It will focus on the following topics:
- Software process assessment and improvement;
- Software and process modelling;
- Software and process measurement;
- Empirical software engineering;
- Methods and tools;
- Organisational learning/experience factory;
- Quality of software, e.g. in embedded systems, telecom, Internet applications and in services;
- Quality standards;
- Industrial experiences and case studies;
- Software engineering and best practice;
- Technology transfer.
There will also be panels and workshops on current research activities and industrial projects.
The conference organisers are now calling for papers.
