For the astrophysicist, black matter appears under two different aspects. On one hand in cosmology (i.e. on large scale), it seems to be constituted as a set of particles. On the other hand, at the scale of galaxies, it is described by several phenomena which appear incompatible with its description in terms of particles. This leads some to say that we face a modification of the law of gravity.
