23rd European Biomass Conference and Exhibition

Join us in Vienna for the 23rd European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, the leading international platform for dialogue between research, industry, policy and the business of biomass.

1 June 2015 - 4 June 2015
Austria
The European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE) is a world class annual event which, since 1980, is held at different venues throughout Europe.
The high quality of the EU BC&E stems from combining one of the largest biomass science and technology conferences with a leading biomass industry and technology exhibition, attracting the entire professional biomass community from around the globe.

"There is pressing need for renewable energy growth to meet political targets for 2020 and beyond. There is an even more pressing need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions if a two degree centigrade global temperature rise above the preindustrial average is not to be exceeded. All uses of biomass need to be carefully considered. This means that biomass use must be environmentally sustainable and that genuine savings of greenhouse gas emissions are achieved when fossil-based products, energy and fuels are replaced. Growth of renewables in the energy sector, particularly of solar and wind energy, however presents substantial challenges in terms of balancing energy supply with energy demand. Biomass and bioenergy are starting to play a major role in the development of systems that can provide stable energy supply that closely matches demand. It is becoming obvious that individual renewable energy sectors can no longer develop in isolation because each has an impact on others in the supply of energy. As a consequence, for the 23rd EUBCE in 2015 we have provided a prominent position for all aspects that relate to biomass and bioenergy in integrated energy supply systems. The new Topic 5 is dedicated to this theme which will be the main theme of the 23rd EUBCE.
There will of course still be a strong focus on interactions between research, industry and policy makers for all branches of biomass, bioenergy biomaterials and biochemical that are contributing to an emerging low carbon. We still need to focus on how scientific innovations can be more efficiently exploited, what are the needs of the cutting edge industries leading the way with scaling up of technologies, what are the research priorities in the minds of industry and policy makers and how can environmental sustainability be maintained and simultaneously economic sustainability achieved" David Baxter, EUBCE Technical Programme Chairman.

Do not miss the opportunity to be part of this world class international biomass conference and present your latest results to specialists and decision-makers from around the globe by submitting your abstracts until 27 October 2014. Please refer to www.eubce.com for the Call for Abstracts, the detailed Conference Subjects, the application for Student Awards and for Peer review and Publication in the scientific magazine ‘Biomass & Bioenergy’ published by Elsevier.
