DIRECTION and NEED4B join forces and set their sights on the World Sustainable Building conference
Under the main conference heading “Are we moving as quickly as we should? It’s up to us!”, the DIRECTION/NEED4B session will share insight on how planners and investors may benefit from best practice projects on sustainable buildings. All the conference sessions involve a cross-fire of perspectives leading to debate, and pulling to pieces certain givens in order to revamp, rebuild and reach out in a meaningful way for a greener future. Our session will take a thorough look into the experience and lessons learnt from across 6 countries and 11 new building demonstration sites. In all, the findings and expertise of some 25 entities from research, industry, SMEs and public bodies will be diced and sliced before the audience in order to reflect on:
filling the gap between methodologies and real buildings: Implementing energy simulations, LCA, BIM and IPD methodologies for the design of a low energy building.
lessons learnt from the NuOffice, Munich, Germany
saving money through reduced energy and water use, adequate monitoring, and lower maintenance costs amongst others
business models for energy efficient buildings in Public Private Partnerships (PPP)
The issue at hand will be developed from the perspectives offered by all those who are engaged in sustainable building projects. These include the RTD community, architects and construction companies, engineering and ICT, as well as business and planning consultancies. Probably one could say the watchword for our session is “best practice replication”. And that’s why the WSB event is such a great platform for both NEED4B and DIRECTION.
The session takes place on Wednesday, 29 October 2014, from 10-11:30h, in Room B1 in the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya.
