EUROPE for Business delivers Horizon 2020 training in Belem, Brazil

Europe for Business (EFB) has organised the second training for EFB Federal University of Pará (UFPA) 25th November - 6th December 2013, in order to explain the new EU Framework Programme for Research - Horizon 2020 - and prepare projects proposals for future calls, opening in 2014.

Horizon 2020 (H2020), is the largest global program to support cooperation in European and international research. Over the next seven years, from 2014 to 2020, the Program will invest € 70.2 billion for projects. Brazil will play a more inclusive role and as such, will be able to take advantage from the new challenges facing the programme. The course objective is to train UFPA researchers to seize these opportunities and improve their technical competencies and expertise, developing appropriate research projects at an international level.

H2020 is a very competitive program, which offers a wide range of opportunities for participation, but also very tough competition. Training will be led by several experience consultants, all of whom have extensive experience in management and writing of European projects for EC framework programmes (FP6 and FP7 in particular), with a focus on International RTDI /S&T Cooperation.

Researcher who wish to participate within the H2020 framework, need a specific set of knowledge and skills tailored to Brazilian cooperation, which is the goal of this training H2020. The UFPA course program will tackle several topics:

a) Provide background knowledge about the financing of the European research and INNOVATION;
b) Forming practical skills on how to develop a competitive proposal and create networks and partnerships;
c) Provide support and on-going training with guidance for collaborations and projects ;
d) Support the participation of UFPA in H2020;
e) Increasing thematic related intellectual property, technological transfer , management INNOVATION.
