On February 17 and 18 2000 the German city of Hamburg will host a workshop on 'Environmental information in the Baltic Sea region' as part of the BEIDS (Baltic Environmental Information Dissemination System) project will be formally launched during the proceedings.

The purpose of the event is to discuss the latest trends on environmental information in the Baltic Sea region. A number of other programmes will also be presented and there will be the opportunity for some organisations to present their projects.

The workshop will be an international event, of interest to all of those working on environmental information and education, say the organisers.

BEIDS is an initiative of the Ministry of Environment of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, supported by the Interreg IIC programme and involving Denmark, Germany, Finland and Sweden, as well as Lithuania and Poland.
