The centre for research in web-based applications of the Department of Information Studies at Rand Afrikaans University, South Africa, has organised the second annual conference on World Wide Web applications to take place on 7 and 8 September 2000.

Following on from the success of and interest in the first Annual Conference on World Wide Web Applications, the aim of this second WWW applications conference is to give participants an opportunity to describe and discuss novel Internet and Web applications and developments.

The following topics are given as suggestions but speakers are not limited to these subjects: Using the Web as a medium for publishing research results; the Web as a business enabler; learning via the Web; Web site management; science and the Web; designing the Web for special needs (for example, the visually handicapped); the Web and society; comparisons of search engines; content and the Web; innovative applications and uses of the Web; the intranet for knowledge management; integrating images, text, video and sound; and Web site strategies.

The organisers are inviting papers on areas of specific interest to the research, academic and business communities.
