University College Dublin welcomes Commissioners Moedas and Hogan

University College Dublin (UCD) will present its plans for future research in Agrifood and Information Communication Technologies (ICT) to European Commissioner Carlos Moedas, responsible for Research, Science and Innovation, and European Commissioner Phil Hogan, responsible for Agriculture and Rural Development, who will visit the university on Friday, 17 April 2015.

17 April 2015 - 17 April 2015
Ireland
Senior researchers from UCD will present the university’s strategic plans for research and innovation over the next few years to the Commissioners, focusing on agrifood and ICT. The research leaders will outline how UCD intends to lead important EU initiatives in these areas.

The visit of the European Commissioners corresponds with UCD’s ambition to display a stronger leadership role, and enhanced contribution to addressing societal challenges through more collaborative R&D.

The proceedings will also include a roundtable with 15 CEOs to discuss opportunities for improving engagement with, and the impact of, EU investment in the areas of ICT and agrifood, where UCD excels.
