Umweltinformatik 2000+
The symposium, themed 'Environmental information for planning, politics and public', is aimed to document the state of development of applications for environmental informatics in German-speaking countries and to promote the exchange of experiences among research, industry and end-users.
The conference organisers expect the event to be an important platform for interdisciplinary dialogue among informatics experts and experts in the preparation, analysis and interpretation of environmental information from the fields of environment, planning and engineering, as well as practitioners of environmental protection, public administration, industry and politics.
Themes of the Bonn symposium will include:
- Environmental Informatics and citizen participation, mediation and Agenda 21;
- Spatial planning and environmental Information systems for sustainable regional and city development;
- Geoinformation systems for supporting decision-making in environmental and regional planning;
- Environmental informatics from an international perspective.
The symposium is being supported by the German Ministry for the Environment, Natural Protection and Reactor Safety and the United Nations Environment Programme, among others.
The conference organisers are calling for papers or posters about research results, best practices, problem and structure analyses from the perspectives of researchers, developers and users and other environmental informatics topics.
Participants will also be able to attend tutorials and an exhibition where companies and researchers will be able to demonstrate the state-of-the-art in environmental informatics technology.
