Euroforum Contaminated Sites Conference
Since the first Euroforum Contaminated Sites Conference in 1990, the international importance of the cleanup and revitalization of abandoned industrial sites has become increasingly evident. The purpose of the 1993 Conference is to present a survey of the present situation and to point out possible solutions. Papers to be presented will cover the following subjects:
- Experiences and technical state of the cleanup situation in the Community and in Eastern Europe (survey of the situation);
- Legal aspects and aspects concerning the permission of cleanup programmes;
- Innovative cleanup technologies, research and development in Europe;
- Cleanup projects;
- Combined application of remedial measures;
- Promotion and financing models for cleanup programmes.
In addition to cleanup programmes, the UPT institute is involved in research and development programmes to develop environmentally compatible manufacturing processes.
