Training Course “Horizon 2020: How to design a successful proposal" (Milan, 4th-6th February 2014)
• Short introduction to Horizon 2020: legal basis and general eligibility and admissibility conditions
• Architecture and main pillars of Horizon 2020
• Funding Instruments: similarities and differences between H2020 and FP7
• Access to funding opportunities: reference websites (e.g. Participant Portal) and support made available by the European Commission (e.g. by means of the Enterprise Europe Network)
• Identifying calls for proposals: instruments, utilities and advice made available by the Commission
• Proposal submission procedure
• Partner search: suggestions and utilities supplied by the Commission
• Instructions to complete Proposal Submission Forms concerning the administrative and financial details of the proposal:
1. Preliminary information for preparing the project budget
2. Tutorial: drafting the budget of a project
• Introduction to project design: the main elements of a project; project design techniques
• Instructions to complete Proposal Submission Forms concerning the technical-scientific details of the proposal:
1. Identifying objectives and expected results
2. Defining Work-packages, tasks and timing
3. Identifying constraints and assumptions, indicators of progress and sources of verification
4. Detailing project impacts, dissemination means and methodologies for exploitation of results (in particular: Intellectual Property Rights, Confidentiality, Joint ownership, Protection of the results, Use of the results, Dissemination activities)
5. Describing the consortium’s management structures
6. Describing the characteristics of the consortium as a whole and of the individual participants, defining how its members complement one another
o Tutorial: Drafting “transversal” Work-Packages (Management and Dissemination and exploitation of results)
o Horizon 2020 evaluation criteria
o Tips to elaborate a succesful proposal.
The course specifically addresses the needs of professionals and project managers who are involved in the design of H2020 projects, both in the private and the public sector. The course can be an effective tool to help participants to successfully manage projects, as well as to further develop their internal project management strategies. It can also provide a good opportunity to network and to share good practices.
THE COURSE WILL BE HELD IN ITALIAN. Courses can also be offered in English on demand.
Dates: Tuesday 4th February (from 14:00 to 17:30); Wednesday 5th February (from 09:00 to 17:00); Thursday 6th February (from 09:00 to 17:00).
COURSE FEE FOR ATTENDANCE ONLY TO THE FIRST MODULE (4th-6th February 2014): € 1200+VAT.
FEE FOR WHO WILL ATTEND BOTH MODULES (4th-6th February 2014 and 25th-26th February 2014): € 1800+VAT (i.e.: € 1200+VAT for the first module and € 600+VAT for the second module).
The fee includes tuition, documentation (both in printed and electronic format), certificate, morning coffees and lunches.
