The FP7 project SAFUEL (The Safer Fuel System) is organising a public forum to present and discuss challenges and innovative solutions for future aircraft fuel systems.

The FP7 project SAFUEL (The Safer Fuel System) is organising a public forum to present and discuss challenges and innovative solutions for future aircraft fuel systems.
This event, entitled "Aircraft Fuel Systems: Future challenges and innovative solutions", is hosted by SAFUEL partner Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in Lisbon, Portugal on the 15th May 2014. The venue for this one-day, free event is the IST congress centre in central Lisbon.
Speakers from both industry and academics will present the latest progress of the research performed by the SAFUEL partners, in the domains of optical gauging, oxygen sensing, water detection, icing and innovations for future fuel tank technologies. In addition to this, international experts on icing phenomena in aircraft fuel will share the most recent progress in this exciting field.

• Brian McDermid, UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch: Title to be confirmed
• Franck Hervy, Centre d'Essai des Propulseurs (CEPr), France: “An understanding of icing phenomena in fuel system through an experimental approach”
