CIVITAS Forum 2015
This year's theme will revolve around 'Sharing the city', i.e. reconciling people, places and traffic to achieve a higher standard of living and a more sustainable model of public transport in urban areas. Ljubljana's mayor, Zoran Janković, will open this year's forum, along with the participation of the European Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc and the Vice President of the European Commission in charge of the Energy Union, Maroš Šefčovič. Many exciting topics are on the agenda of this year's conference, including the latest developments in electric mobility, bike sharing, multimodality and travel planning, effective mobility management and ICT solutions for a more accessible city.
Success stories, valuable lessons, and best practices will also be revealed in many of the forum's sessions, while several networking opportunities and social events will provide ample opportunity to get to know colleagues in the field. Site visits will include touring pedestrianised Ljubljana by foot, cycling through architectural attractions, understanding the city's successes in public transport and learning about the revival of the city's Roman past. This year's CIVITAS forum promises to be a very special one in the heart of Europe, and registration has already begun!
