The fourth TTP (Time-Triggered Protocol) Forum, will be held in Detroit, USA, on 8 March 2000, in parallel to the Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress 2000. It will be the first appearance of the TTP community in the USA.
The TTP is a European communication technology addressing the specific requirements of dependable embedded computer systems such as drive-by-wire. This system involves the replacement of mechanic and hydraulic systems for steering, braking, throttle and suspension functions with electronic controllers, actuators and sensors, leading to an increase in traffic safety.

During the last five years TTP has been selected as the protocol of choice for demanding drive-by-wire systems by much of the European automotive industry, and interest is now being shown by US and Japanese companies.

Keynote speakers from leading automotive and electronic corporations will present their companies' vision on TTP.
