FP7-EU Project ITACA organises End Users Workshop
Both Sicilian Regional Department for Underwater archaeological sites and Hellenic Institute for Marine Archaeology (I.EN.A.E. – Greece), as project partners and end users, will benefit from free use of ITACA services or products.
After the End Users workshop ITACA project is really taking off. Next steps are the development of the specific Earth Observation methods, images acquisition, processing, data fusion and application of shape detection algorithms. A two-stage campaign on the sea in Italy and Greece using high technology equipment’s and scuba diver inspections will validate the developed technology. A six-month trial service will be provided on the project website throughout a Web GIS.
Finally an International Final Conference planned in Athens by the end of the project (March 2016) will present the final results.
ITACA is a project funded by European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) started on January 2014 and it will last for 27 months. The Consortium is coordinated by Planetek Hellas E.P.E.
