ENGAGE Open Data Competition

The ENGAGE project has organised a competition for developers, researchers, journalists and anyone who has a keen interest in the re-use of Open Data.

7 April 2014 - 28 April 2014
Austria
The ENGAGE project (www.engagedata.eu) has organised a competition for developers, researchers, journalists and anyone who has a keen interest in the re-use of Open Data. It is a “hybrid” Hackathon-Datathon competition running between 7th and 28th April 2014.

A quick registration is required, and applicants will have the opportunity to submit their entries, which can be open-data-centric applications and/or innovative, curated and re-usable high-quality datasets. All applicants must conform to the Eligibility Criteria and all entries will be assessed based on the Selection Criteria. A panel of judges appointed by the ENGAGE consortium will assess the entries and decide on a winner and runner-up for the Hackathon and the Datathon.
Key dates:
• Hackathon launch: Monday 7th April 2014
• Deadline for submissions: Monday 28th April 2014
• Winners are announced: Monday 5th May 2014

For more information on the competition please visit www.engagedata.eu or www.enagage-project.eu.

ENGAGE Video

For newcomers, the ENGAGE Consortium has put together a video to explain the core aims of the platform and the main functionality and features. The video can be seen at www.engage-project.eu and was shown during the European Data Forum (EDF) 2014 exhibition, where ENGAGE was a Gold Sponsor and organising partner. Also, the video attracted considerable attention at the International Conference on Research Infrastructures (ICRI) 2014 exhibition.
The ENGAGE YouTube channel will be populated with more videos soon, in the form of tutorials that will help researchers, journalists, developers and citizens to make the most of the platform’s functionality.
