A showcase of Slovenia's research base will be on show for the first time in Brussels on 13 March at the 'Slovenia R&D - preparing for accession through closer partnership' conference taking place at the Résidence Palace.

Organised in cooperation with the European Commission Directorate-General for Research by the Slovenia business and research association, the event will bring together a collection of scientists, politicians and academics as well as inward investment representatives. The country's Minister of science and technology will be present, as will senior representatives of the country's largest research institute, the Josef Stefan.

Brief oral presentations and comprehensive documentation available will be given to provide an overview of academic and industrial research in Slovenia. Also highlighted will be the areas where closer cooperation is needed with European partners, its strengths and priorities, as well as of its technological capabilities and needs to be covered through closer cooperation.
