FET2020 Conference in Budapest, June 26 – Strengthening participation in FET

The third and final conference of the FET2020 initiative (www.fet2020.eu) will take place in Budapest on June 26, the day after the Information day and Brokerage event on Horizon 2020 Future and Emerging Technologies Open and High Performance Computing (HPC) calls.

26 June 2014
Austria
The conference places a focus on strengthening participation in the FET programme, in a research context that is growing in complexity. “With recent initiatives like the Flagships or the FLAG-ERA project – says Erich Prem, coordinator of the project – research done under FET is becoming more and more multidisciplinary and intertwined with policy aspects. In a way, researchers that become involved in the FET programme today, have to be more aware of such context, to better contribute to the impact of the whole programme”.
The conference should attract a good mix of technical people from Europe’s most advanced labs in FET research, and of policy makers from different member states. “We expect – adds Ian Morgan from Optimat, one of the FET2020 partners – to hear from member states representatives on how best to coordinate those EU and national efforts. This is especially important in this initial phase of the H2020 funding cycle”. Participation to the conference is free of charge, but registration is required either by contacting office@fet2020.eu or via http://www.b2match.eu/fet2014/registration(opens in new window) if you also plan to take part in the Infoday and Brokerage the day before.
