Slovakia hosts FOOD 2000

A technology transfer day for food technologies 'FOOD 2000', will provide a forum for small and medium sized companies (SMEs) from Slovakia to meet representatives from the EU food technology industry. The event will be held on 7 April 2000 in Nitra, Slovakia.

The organisers, from FEMIRC Slovakia (Fellow member to the Innovation Relay Centre) feel the event will help to:

- Foster conditions for cooperation among the participating companies and institutions;
- Present progressive and innovative trends;
- Support exchange of experience and acquisition of new knowledge for
individual progressive technologies;
- Encourage technology and know-how transfer among the Slovak corporations, corporations of Associated Countries, and of the European
Union.

The event is aimed at representatives SMEs, universities and research institutes as well as large enterprises.

Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the parallel event, 'Interprise Gastra-Alimenta 2000' and the following exhibitions, which are scheduled from 4 to 8 April 2000:

- ALIMENTA-9th International Trade Fair for Foodstuffs and Technologies for Food Businesses;
- GASTRA-9th International Trade Fair for Hotel, Store and Catering
Equipment;
- MBAL- Specialised exhibition of packaging technologies;
- COBA- Specialised exhibition of bakery, confectionery and technologies;
- MILK- Specialised exhibition of milk, dairy products and technologies.
