Top level speakers will be on parade at the UK's Institute of Economic Affairs conference on the future of European power generation on 5 and 6 April 2000.

Among those giving presentations will be Anna Walker, Director General of the UK Department of Trade and Industry; Zin Smati, President of BP Amoco Global Power; Alfredo Llorene Legaz, Director General of 'International' Endesa; and Dr Simon Minett, Director of Cogen Europe.

The key issues for discussion will include European liberalisation and the future direction of regulation; competitive strategies to maximise new opportunities; impact of new trading mechanisms and exchanges; strategic positioning for the evolving international market; and fuel diversity and the commercial potential of renewables.
