Technology policy and innovation in the spotlight in Brazil
The need to the create, transfer, apply and disseminate knowledge as it increasingly becomes a key strategic resource means that there is a need to enhance understanding of the barriers and incentives for effective knowledge.
At the 4th International Conference, scientists, engineers, managers, entrepreneurs, and policy makers will present research results and share informed practices and lessons learned. They will also discuss creative and innovative topics of emerging importance for both the public and private sector.
The conference is the fourth in a line which began in Macau in 1997. The issues it will directly address are the following:
- Policy: emerging issues in science and technology;
- Development: global perspectives on technology and economic growth;
- Managing Technology Companies: from start-ups to multi-nationals;
- Knowledge Society: tools, methods and institutions;
- Networking and partnerships for development.
The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 20, 2000. Authors will be informed of paper acceptance by May 1, 2000 and the deadline for final paper submission is July 1, 2000.
