Community progress in biotechnology and its implications in the agricultural and agroindustrial sectors

In cooperation with the Commission of the European Communities, a conference on Community progress in biotechnology and its implications in the agricultural and agroindustrial sectors will be held on 2 June 1993 in Amiens (France).
Participants at the event include le Chambre Regionale d'Agriculture de Picardie, le Biopole Vegetal, le Centre de Valorization des Glucides et des Produits Naturels, and le Laboratoire Androgenese et Biotechnologie de l'Universite de Picardie.
The inauguration will include a presentation by Mr Bellardinelli of DG XIII/D-2 (Dissemination of Scientific and Technical Knowledge Unit). His subject will be the Commission's VALUE programme for the dissemination and utilization of knowledge resulting from the specific programmes of Community research and technological development (19921994).
Distinguished University and Research Institute speakers will cover a wide variety of subjects including computer-controlled biotechnology, genetic transformation and regeneration of in vitro cultured plants, the production and utilization of value added fibres, biogas from potatoes, beet virus control and waste water from sugar refining.
