This year's workshop to review the achievements of EU-funded projects concentrating on 'Abatement of water pollution from contaminated land, landfills and sediments' will be held in Venice, Italy from 21 to 23 June.

The workshop will be organised by the EU-funded concerted action 'Environmental technologies' (ETCA) and will be structured in the following sessions:

- Detection and monitoring of relevant pollutants;
- Soil and groundwater redemption activities;
- Assessment and minimisation of pollutants from contaminated land;
- Pollution prevention of groundwater bodies;
- Risk assessment approaches of contaminated soils and surface- and ground water bodies; decision support systems.

Early registration is recommended, as the total number of participants is limited to 120.

The workshop is jointly organised by Enichem and INCA (Inter-university Consortium on Chemistry for the Environment), Italy.
