IST Mobile Telecommunications Summit 2000

The IST Mobile Telecommunications Summit, a gathering point for anyone involved in or wishing to understand European research activities in mobile and personal communications, will be held in Galway, Ireland, from 1 to 4 October 2000.
This major international conference will address a broad range of developments in advanced mobile communications technologies, systems and services in the context of the emerging third generation mobile systems and their continued evolution towards fourth generation systems.
It will also be the principal forum for disseminating results from European research in advanced mobile and personal communications systems and networks, including terrestrial and satellite systems. Development activities from outside Europe will also be presented.
The programme covers a broad range of issues relating to the development and evolution of future wireless and mobile communication systems and networks, including: UMTS and satellite UMTS; broadband interactive multimedia satellites; mobile broadband systems; broadband wireless local loop; broadband fixed wireless access; multi-point distribution systems; digital audio and video broadcasting and high altitude platforms.
Papers are being invited on a range of topics, with a deadline for the receipt of abstracts of 2 June 2000.
