Conference in French: Electron optics in nanoconductors
by Gwendal Fève

"Electron optics in nanoconductors"
The progresses in nanofabrication techniques of the semi-conductor industry now make it possible to shape electrical conductors on a few nanometres' scale. In these nano-circuits, matter properties are governed by quantum mechanics, and the propagation of electrons (in particular at low temperature) is no longer described by the motion of classical corpuscules but rather by the propagation of matter waves with strong analogies with the propagation of light in optics. I will present in this seminar experiments illustrating these electron optics in quantum conductors.
