Do H2020 financial reporting and EC audits scare you?

Are you often unsure whether you are doing the right thing in the most efficient way?

Do you need some concrete recommendations on what to do in case of specific situations (personnel cost calculation, budget reallocation, equipment costs) in your project?

We know that Horizon 2020 finances can be confusing; there is a lot of information and sometimes these can even be contradictory. We will not only explain those annotations in the H2020 model grant agreement, but we will give you examples and share our own experience and real stories from our own 15 running projects!

We will go over these and many more practical daily issues that you will typically come across during your project’s lifecycle. Also, feel free to ask your questions regarding your project during the training; we love to hear some real stories and you will also learn from other participants tackling similar challenges in their projects.

There a lot of “EU funding specialists” out there, but very few can prove their expertise through obvious success: up and running H2020 projects.

Europa Media and its sister company Geonardo have been active in EU funded research and innovation projects since 1999, having coordinated and implemented over 60 projects to date. Let our project managers and financial experts share their recommendations and struggles with you and provide you the confidence you need to smoothly handle your financial reports and survive EC audits.

Why participate in this course?

"Best trainer in Europe on H2020 finances"

We are proud to hear this from our clients and participants. Our trainer Gabor Kitley is an expert on Horizon 2020 finances. There is no question he cannot answer; you can test him. Over the past 15 years, he helped major universities, research institutions and corporations all over Europe to survive financial audits. We ourselves went through six audits since we started our first EU project.

Lectures and Workshops - a practical combination

This fast-track course is intended to provide a complete insight into Horizon 2020 financial issues through a mix of presentations and hands-on workshops:

The day will start with an extended presentation covering from A to Z of Horizon 2020 financial issues. It will be mind-blowing, but worth every second.

After this, you will go through Europa Media's famous financial reporting workshop to simulate financial reporting under H2020: together with your group mates, you will fill in an actual financial statement for an H2020 project using custom-made documentation including timesheets, salary slips and invoices.

After the workshop you will go over some pragmatic approaches in reporting; Point-by-point assessment of the prepared financial reports: Format, content; overall principles, possible bottlenecks, what should and should not be included.

The second day will finish with a step-by-step guide on how to report costs, deal with deviations, and internal allocation issues. Handling the EC requests for clarification, suspension of payments and other issues with a hands-on approach.
