Textile and clothing results to be unveiled

The annual public conference of the European textile and clothing research network, TERESA, will be the showcase for some promising research results in the fields of innovative and eco-efficient products and processes.
Organised by the European apparel and textile organisation, the event will take place on 26 May 2000 in Brussels. The research results have been drawn from the 41 EU-funded R&D projects, which belong to the TERESA network, a project under the thematic network initiative of DG Research.
The following five areas will be presented by leading industrialists and scientists in conference sessions: cooperative product development for functional clothing, technological innovations in textile dyeing, plasma treatment for textiles, use of biotechnology in textile processing and challenge of non-woven technologies for the textile industry
The European textile and clothing research network TERESA was created in 1998 under the thematic network initiative of the European Commission, DG Research to help coordinate European research activities in the textiles and clothing sectors. This year's event will be its second annual meeting.
