The European association of research managers (EARMA) together with the Instituto nazionale per la fisica della materia (INFM) has announced the opening of a new training school for research managers in Genoa, Italy.

The organisation now boasts a network that spreads across Europe, taking in cities such as Dublin, Brussels, Helsinki and Karlsruhe.

In addition, EARMA plans to hold a new training programme in Genoa on 'presentation skills' related to research managers' day to day needs. The course will deliver the theoretical background for successful presentations at conferences and meetings and in front of smaller groups of people by demonstrating key principles. There will be a strong focus on individual feedback. The course will also double as a valuable forum for making contacts and networking, says EARMA.

The training course runs as a two-day programme and is open on 11 and 12 May and 15 and 16 May.
