Three workshops for potential FP5 proposers, particularly those interested in the Information Society Technologies (IST) programme, will be held in the UK during June. All three will take place at Coventry University's TechnoCentre, part of the Innovation Relay Network.

'The IST programme made simple' which takes place on 14 June, is for those considering developing a proposal for the IST programme. It will show participants how to assess their chances of success, and provide a basic understanding of the Commission's rules and procedures.

'Successful proposal writing' aims to show participants how to turn a good idea into a winning research proposal. Being held on 15 June, the workshop is aimed at those preparing a proposal for submission to the IST programme in October 2000. Guidance will be given on how to communicate research ideas clearly, address the evaluation criteria, and avoid the common pitfalls.

'EC research projects - the inside story' on 16 June is aimed at those who intend to take on the role of project co-ordinator and manage the project. The workshop will concentrate on explaining how these projects are managed and how good practices can be built in to support successful delivery of results.
