Finding the facts on fluid sealing
The conference builds on experiences of previous events, bringing together many of the world's leading experts to share and present the latest applications and developments. The conference also aims to provide a foundation for future developments and an insight into the application of the best technologies for improved sealing reliability and effectiveness.
It includes a mix of practical application and academic papers with the aim of making it relevant for professionals from both industry and research organisations. 'By drawing together sealing experts who shape the way the technology is developed or who want to understand what it offers, the event aims to support a high degree of technology transfer by providing a unique forum for exchanging ideas,' say the event organisers.
Information about all types of sealing device will be included, from rotating seals to reciprocating and static applications, covering issues such as technical developments, new legislation, cost reduction and control, environmental concerns, maintenance and warranties, research findings and industrial applications. Separate sessions will cover: bolting & gaskets; FE/polymer gaskets; lip and other rotary seals; non-contacting mechanical seals; mechanical seals: classical; emissions; and surface textures.
Cyril X Latty, Chairman of Latty International SA, who will speak about the past, present and future of sealing, will open the conference. The event targets all people involved with the design and application of fluid sealing, including engineers, managers and decision makers in the process, power, petroleum, defence, aerospace, industrial engineering and manufacturing sectors.
