Research carried out by the Foundation through its sustainable development programme (1997-2000) will be presented and analysed at the conference, looking at their achievements and their requirements.
Organizers also aim to identify barriers still facing SMEs in their search for sustainable production and strategies to overcome these.
The conference will last two days and will comprise a plenary session and four parallel sessions dealing with the following themes:
- product design - practical examples of SMEs;
- support systems for SMEs - innovative examples;
- training needs of SMEs;
- evaluation of draft Foundation report on Factors and Processes leading to successful design.
Participation in the conference will be limited to a total of 80 invitees, including a number of invitees nominated by European social partner representatives. Interested parties can contact the foundation though participation will be by invitation only.
