The Innovation Relay Centre at THATI GmbH in Erfurt, Thüringen, Germany, is organising the second international technology transfer days event 'Biomaterial 2000' in the field of medical biomaterials on 19 and 20 October 2000 in Erfurt, Germany.
About 120 participants from six to eight countries are expected to attend this year's event, which deals with bioceramics and bioglass and will cover the following main areas:
- coatings of implants;
- osteosynthesis;
- composites.
Companies involved in these subjects are invited to participate and present their technology offers or requests as well as their partner searches for joint research and development projects which should fit into the following fields of application.
- manufacturing and coating procedures;
- surface functionalising and patterning;
- clinical performance and tissue response.
These company profiles will be published in a bilingual catalogue (German and English) and distributed around Europe to specialists in industry and research.
Companies registered in the catalogue will have the opportunity to present a 10 to15 minute demonstration on selected projects during the event. There will also be pre-arranged meetings with potential partners in the afternoon.
The objective is to create new business relationships, to stimulate cooperation between industry and research as well as to initiate new joint projects within the EU's Fifth RTD Framework programme.
