ICFC 2000: a cold forging congress
International Cold Forging Congresses are held once every five years with venues alternating between Germany and the UK. This year, the ICFC will address fundamental and practical issues crucial to the successful production and optimum utilisation of cold forged products world wide. 'It is an event essential to forward looking manufacturers, designers, material technologists, tool and die makers and machine builders,' say the organisers.
The main topics to be addressed include:
- tooling (simulation, design, manufacture, materials);
- materials for Cold Forging;
- production methods;
- lubricant and surface treatment technology;
- machine tools.
Young researchers in this field (under 35) who work either on a professional basis or in the frame of a PhD course will be given financial support by the organisation's European Committee.
