European Universities in the Energy Transition: Towards a Clean Energy Future
The conference will include the presentation of a forthcoming report entitled “Identifying New Paradigms in Energy Education and Research: An Action Agenda for Europe’s Universities”. The report will provide recommendations for universities, companies and policymakers for the design of energy education and research activities with the aim to address the skills gap between higher education provision and needs of the business sector for the energy transition.
The conference will highlight the contribution and mobilisation of universities towards the goals of the Energy Union and the SET-Plan and discuss how the momentum could be enhanced in the following years, following the publication of the 2016 Roadmap for European Universities in Energy. It will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan and debate how the future European Framework Programme (FP9) can support the linkage of research, innovation and education objectives in the field of energy.
Registration is free of charge and will close on 16 October 2017. Please note that attendance to the event is limited. Places will be allocated on a first-registered, first-served basis. More information on the event website.
