MEDILIGHT Workshop

MEDILIGHT in a partnership with the Czech Liaison Office for Research, Development and Innovation is pleased to invite you to the workshop that will take place on 17 November 2017, in Brussels, Belgium. During this event, main achievements of this project in development and validation of MEDILIGHT – a medical device for personalized wound care will be presented. MEDILIGHT is a miniaturized smart system which uses therapeutic effects of blue light to enhance the self-healing process and monitor the status and history of the wound during therapy, co-developed by multiple partners within a project funded by the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme. MEDILIGHT is the first medical device combining an absorbent adhesive dressing and a light source to optimize the control of bacterial load and to stimulate fibroblasts and keratinocytes proliferation.

This project raised a lot of attention for its technical achievements and is also highlighted as a success story of a cooperation between industry, academia and research organizations driven by end-user needs. A roadmap for further development after finalization of the research stage and market introduction has been outlined by the end-user.
