This year's European Science and Technology Week is to take place between 6 and 11 November 2000.

The aim of the week, an EU initiative, is to demonstrate the successes and importance of science in a way that is accessible to the non-specialist public. The week particularly aims to inspire young people to take an interest in science through projects and activities.

Planned activities include 'Physics on Stage', a presentation of innovative ideas and projects for physics education, and 'Learning from Nature', a video linking natural phenomena and their application to products and processes from which we all benefit daily.
