Fourteenth international conference on pipeline protection

The fourteenth international conference on pipeline protection will be held in Barcelona, Spain, form 29 to 31 October 2001. The conference will provide an important forum for operators, consultants, contractors, designers, suppliers and researchers to share experiences across a wide range of projects and conditions say the event organisers.

Papers and case studies are now welcome on the following topics:

- New build including welded steel, internal lining, methods of construction (including deep water), offshore, shore approach, materials, coatings, chemical treatments, and risk assessment;
- Existing pipelines including cathodic protection, intelligent pigs, surveying techniques, stress corrosion cracking, change of use, and asset integrity;
- Rehabilitation and materials including new materials, steel vs ductile, linings, special joints, and concrete.

The technical committee would welcome papers on any aspect of health and safety whether onshore or offshore in the oil and gas industry or, in the case of the water industry, in the areas of potable waters or sewage, say the event organisers.

The event is cosponsored by the Institute of Corrosion, the Pipeline Industries Guild and the Energy Industries Council.
