The Finnish national fund for research is one of the organisers of a forthcoming event in Helsinki entitled 'People, cities and the new information economy' on 14 and 15 December. European Commissioner for Enterprise and Information society, Erkki Liikanen will be speaking at the event, as well as representatives of business, politics and academia.
The conference will focus on the following themes:
- companies and people in the knowledge economy
- cities and digital networks
- from social capital to competitiveness
One of the areas that the conference will attempt to tackle is how the goals of the European Commission's eEurope goals can be attained.
