Novel products from combustion residues

The EC network PROGRES is organising a workshop on 'novel products from combustion residues: opportunities and limitations,' from 5 to 8 June 2001 in Morella, Spain.

The workshop will focus on novel products from glassy combustion residues to complement more general conferences and symposia on solid waste and ash utilisation.

The following topics will be covered:

- purification of residues;
- conversion of ashes into useful minerals;
- carbon products from ash;
- special clinkers;
- composite materials;
- agricultural applications;
- other producers and applications.

Each topic will be presented as a series of papers dealing with:

- production and supply of residues (industrial relevance);
- realistic technologies (technology developers)
- market issues (end users).

The ideal configuration of each topic will be one contribution each in the areas of production, supply and market issues and several in the area of technology development.
