The tenth European Congress on Biotechnology, 'biotechnological challenges in the new millennium', will be organised by the Spanish Society of Biotechnology (SEBIOT), and held in Madrid on 8 to 11 July 2001.

ECB10 will include lectures in embryo cloning, the human genome project, biotechnology and the environment and novel and functional foods. Symposia on biotechnology for animal and human health, applied genome research, microbial biotechnology, agrobiotechnology, environmental biotechnology, biochemical engineering, biocatalsysts, biosafety and biotechnology and society will also take place.

The congress will provide a forum for European biotechnologists from industry and academia to exchange knowledge and ideas, and to contribute to a better understanding and perception of biotechnology by the general public.For further information, please consult the following web address:
