Americas host this year's largest bioenergy conference

The Fifth biomass conference of the Americas, billed as the largest conference in 2001 dedicated to bioenergy, will be held in Orlando, Florida, from September 17 to 21 2001.

The Fifth biomass conference of the Americas, billed as the largest conference in 2001 dedicated to bioenergy, will be held in Orlando, Florida, from September 17 to 21 2001.

Papers are now invited on the following preliminary topics:

- Biomass resources;
- Bioenergy products;
- Integrating emerging technologies with conventional energy systems;
- Biomass products;
- Biomass refineries: the link between biobased and bioenergy products;
- Environmental and ecological impacts of bioenergy and biobased products;
- Public private partnerships;
- Social acceptability of bioenergy and biobased products;
- Policies for market development.

This is the 'sister conference' to the European conference on biomass for energy and industry. The two conferences are held on alternate years. The event is co-sponsored by NRCan and the US Department of energy and agriculture.
