The first IEE Innovation Conference on "Technology Exploitation and Investment" will be held at the Royal Aeronautical Society, London, on 30 September 1993.

This one day Conference addresses the major issues involved in preparing the business case for investment in technology and new products. It provides a practical guide to new product business plan preparation and addresses the main concerns in technology exploitation decision making. Session titles to be included are:

- Wealth creation through technology exploitation;
- Appraisal requirements for successful investment;
- Intellectual property as an asset;
- Evaluating product market potential;
- Assessing technology selection;
- Development management;
- Case studies.

The Conference will be particularly relevant to senior industrialists including technical, business development and marketing managers, corporate financiers, venture capitalists, and entrepreneurial technologists.

Among contributions from experts and distinguished speakers in the fields of technology exploitation and investment, Dr. A. Strub, of the Commission of the European Communities, Directorate-General XIII, will speak on "Innovation and Technology Transfer, a role for the Community".
