Recognising results of conformity assessment
The aim of the conference is to illustrate problems and specifically to:
-- give examples of national conformity assessment systems which simultaneously ensure a high level of protection of life and health and facilitate mutual recognition;
-- discuss the opportunities for increased co-ordination between Member States regarding requirements for conformity assessment bodies;
-- discuss and find solutions on how to deal with national marking requirements and reporting to national responsible authorities.
The agenda will also cover:
- The principles of mutual recognition in the non-harmonised area;
- The role and impact of conformity assessment on the internal market;
- How safety of products is achieved by conformity assessment procedures - what is needed in order to guarantee safety for citizens;
- How national requirements on conformity assessment hinder trade;
- Commission initiatives to improve mutual recognition of conformity assessment in the non-harmonised sector etc.
