The 17th European photovoltaic solar energy conference and exhibition will be held in Munich, Germany, from 22 to 26 October 2001.

The programme will include: plenary lectures focusing on the state of the art in photovoltaics (PV); oral and poster presentations of specific research, development and demonstration projects, PV applications and market aspects; an exhibition of PV products and services; a PV industry forum; and scientific tours and a social programme.

Papers are invited on the following topics:

- fundamentals, novel devices and new materials;
- crystalline silicon solar cells;
- amorphous and microcrystalline silicon;
- CdTe, CIS and other (II-VI) ternary thin film cells;
- PV modules and components of PV systems;
- PV systems technology;
- space cells and systems;
- PV for developing countries;
- market deployment in utility grids.

The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 20 April 2001.
