Focus on the EU's renewable energy sources

MEPs and national MPs will gather at the third Inter-Parliamentary Meeting, Renewable Energy Sources in the EU, organised by the 'European forum for renewable energy sources' (EUFORES) and the 'Swedish bioenergy association' (SVEBIO) to discuss recent developments in the field.
The event aims to foster a high-level dialogue between MEPs and MPs, increase their awareness about recent energy developments, particularly those in the field of renewable energy sources (RES), and yield a better understanding of the aims, priorities, tools and best available practices.
The main aims of the meeting are to present RSE related policy options and developments to the MEPs and MPs, discuss the development of EU energy policy and its contribution to RES with special regard to the consequences of the EU Kyoto commitments and contribute to the debate on the present situation of the energy market liberalisation in the EU, as well as the implications of the new guidelines on state aids.
Delegates will also discuss possible legislative initiatives as a follow up to the EU's strategy targets and instruments, relations between RES and other policy areas and problems faced by EU regions.For further information, please consult the following web address:
