Intellectual property and scientific information conference

'Scientific information and intellectual property problems and opportunities' is the theme of a conference taking place in Munich, Germany, on 4 May, organised by the International council for scientific and the technical information (ICSTI).

The event has two objectives. Firstly, to clarify and discuss the role of intellectual property systems in the creation and availability of scientific information. Secondly, to discuss how to improve the flow of scientific information, from scientific communities and universities to patent offices, and vice versa. Organisers have also highlighted that the role of information technologies will also play a key role in the conference.
