Young entrepreneurs and SMEs - first virtual world congress

The European Commission, together with The Spanish Kingdom, the Government of Aragon and the Young Entrepreneur Association of Zaragoza is organising the first virtual world congress of young entrepreneurs and SMEs, which will be held from September 2001 until March 2002.

The congress objectives are to create a debate forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences on the problems of young entrepreneurs and SMEs, to maximise commercial exchange between participants, to diffuse new information technologies, to promote an entrepreneurial culture and to diffuse good business practices.

The congress opening will take place with a simultaneous video conferences from several points around the world: Brussels, Madrid, Zaragoza, Washington, El Cairo, Tokyo, St Petersburg and Buenos Aires.

Work groups will be oriented towards subjects of interest to young entrepreneurs on subjects proposed by participating organisations. Exhibitions on relevant topics will also be held.

Thematic areas to be covered by the congress include e-business: new business models, globalisation and external commerce, strategy, human resources, quality and industrial security, the environment, society and enterprise, women and enterprise, culture and enterprise and sports and enterprise.

An announcement board will be created, where participants can post announcements on the purchase, sale or exchange of products, services or ideas.
