On 7 June an exhibition on the European Space Agency (ESA) and its new Earth observation satellite Envisat began its tour of Italy in Naples.

The tour is part of a Europe-wide campaign to provide information on the use of the instruments onboard Envisat and how they can provide support to scientific institutions working to protect the environment.

Following Envisat's launch, which is scheduled to take place in October from Kourou in French Guiana, the satellite should be able to start searching for answers to questions about pollution and global warming.

7 to 16 June: Naples
21 to 30 June: Milan
19 to 28 July: Catania
