International environmental informatics symposium

Representatives from the European Commission will be attending the 15th international environmental informatics symposium, to be held in Zurich, Switzerland on 10 to 12 October.
Robert Verrue, Director General of the European Commission's Information Society DG will speak in the plenary session along with Prudencio Perera Manzanedo, Director for Environmental quality of natural resources in the European Commission and representatives from government, industry and research institutes from the EU, Switzerland and USA.
Topics to be covered by the conference include: industrial environmental management, impacts of information and communication technologies, the new economy and sustainable development, environmental information systems, public access to environmental information, online mediation, shaping a sustainable information society, energy, CO2 and climate, environmental information systems architecture and geographic information systems.For further information, please consult the following web address:
